With only 4 league games remaining there are now only 20 points separating Kew, Amersham and Cove at the top of the table, and the battle for the 2 promotion slots looks sure to go right to the end of the season. Amersham 2nds survived a huge scare on Saturday at Datchet when after dismissing the home side for 164 largely through the efforts of Bulman ( 11.1-6-15-5 ) and Rajabali (12-2-43-4), the batsmen managed to turn 110-2 into 154-9 and the home side sensed a major shock on the cards as James Harmer somewhat nervously made his way to the middle with 11 runs still required. This was to reckon without the batting prowess of Rajabali at the other end who made light of the situation by calmly stroking the winning runs to the great relief of his colleagues. Earlier, Elliott Ketteringham (42) and Matt Ash (41) had put on 83 for the second wicket, with very useful contributions also from Bulman and Langley. |
