Amersham secured a straightforward win at Chenies & Latimer, to keep the pressure on the division's front-runners. Chenies won the toss and opted to bat on a good pitch and fast outfield, but they couldn't impose any authority on the young seamers Brad Holt (4-20) and James Harmer (3-11). Tom Dixon (2-44) bowled an impressive 17 over spell, and even Tim Aylott's arm (1-9) briefly came out of retirement. Amersham's fielding was sharp, and once Moffit was removed for a patient 31, his team-mates followed in quick succession, as Chenies were dismissed for 94 in 40 overs. Amersham made short work of the target, cruising to victory without loss in just 20 overs. Paul Weston (57*) hit form with some trademarks drives, and Sam Mayne (31*) gave virtuous support. |
