A convincing performance saw Amersham record their second league victory of the season on a glorious summer's day at Shardeloes. To the utter dismay of his teammates, skipper Weston lost the toss again and the visitors had no hesitation in batting first, though were soon struggling as Holt picked up 2 early wickets and Amersham never lost the initiative thereafter. Excellent fielding saw all 10 Datchet wickets fall to catches, the final one by Saffery being quite outstanding, with the only blemish being one regulation drop off Sidebottom which left the fielder in question rather ASHen faced for the remainder of the day! Matt Ash replaced Bulman after an excellent spell( 12-6-16-4) and thereupon quickly wrapped up the tail to finish with highly impressive figures of 4.2-2-3-4.

In reply, Amersham lost Ash to the first ball of the innings but Weston (21) and Fleming (54) then calmly put on 61 before Bulman (21 no) joined Fleming to see the home side to within sight of victory. After having impressed all watchers on his debut, Fleming was caught with the score on 117, leaving Tim Aylott to stroke the winning runs and complete a most satisfying win.
