On a day when no Division 1 game was completed due to poor weather Amersham were inserted on a wet wicket and immediately struggled against accurate Cove bowling, at one stage being reduced to 16-4. Luke Jackson engineered a partial recovery, sharing productive partnerships with Todd Kruger and Chris Sowden. However, all eventually fell victim to the pressure Cove created with Amersham limping past 100 in their overs, a below par score even in such difficult conditions.

After a lengthy delay over tea for heavy rain Cove began their innings. Chris Sowden immediately snapped up two quick wickets to put Cove on the back foot; however, with fielders, bowlers and batsmen aquaplaning dramatically in the wet conditions the umpires ruled the ground unfit and abandonned the game.
